Evelyn María Anderson is a muralist and poet who holds a BA in Arts Practice from Stanford University. Raised in a bicultural home, her mother’s family is from Honduras, while her father grew up in Illinois. By following intergenerational stories of familial love, abuse, and intimacy, Evelyn María Anderson’s poly-vocal chapbook, Sweetfires, seeks to elucidate the broader geopolitical relationship between Central America and the United States. Sweetfires is the recipient of the Palooka Press Chapbook Award.
